« Race after race, time and time again, the partnership between HSR and BRM proves its success. Competition will be fierce during the Mid-Ohio Historics and drivers will have to put all their skills into play to win the Hawk Performance Endurance Series presented by BRM.

The partnership between BRM and HSR is based on our shared enthusiasm for motor sports and our common ideals: a pure racing spirit and the appreciation of fine craftsmanship. Our brands both evoke excellence and technological prowess, attention to detail and unfailing enthusiasm.

As a dozen drivers fight the battle to win the championships and proudly display their BRM watch, others will flock from all over the world to grab the chance to wear a one-off time piece.

BRM is proud to sponsor the Classic 24 hours at Daytona staged by HSR on 15-16 November 2014. The race gives drivers a rare chance to drive at night and to win a watch that it is inextricably linked to the history of motor racing.

The winners of the first Daytona 24 hours Classic will be presented with a BRM watch. Only the chosen few will have the honour of wearing a watch that symbolises only one thing: victory.»

BRM promotion weekend
Bernard Richards was in Singapore on the weekend of 15 August 2014 to meet our new distributor E-collezione and present the BRM brand.

« The E-Collezione store is superb and totally in keeping with the spirit of BRM. They sell niche products and have a different sports car on display in the store each month », says Bernard RICHARDS.
« I have absolute confidence in this collaboration », B.R.
You are one of the best LMP2 drivers at the moment, certainly one of the fastest? How do you do it?

I think hard work makes all the difference. That’s true in all fields, but even more so in high-level sport. I am lucky enough to be able to earn my living doing what I love. That means I ask a lot of myself and I don’t leave anything to chance. It also means I am demanding in terms of the team I work with and the equipment I use. That’s why I’m with OAK Racing.

We’re almost half-way through the season. How do you feel about your performance up until now?

As far as the WEC is concerned, the season couldn’t have started better, with a pole position and 2 wins, at Silverstone and Spa. Unfortunately, at the Le Mans 24 hours, we had to drop out during the night after an incident involving another car. That was really, really hard because we had what it takes to get a good result. But that’s racing! In the USCC in the USA, it wasn’t easy to start with because the LMP2 category is at somewhat of a disadvantage. All the same, race after race we got better and better and came 4th at Sebring and Long Beach, 3rd in Detroit, 2nd at Watkins Glen and pulled off a very convincing win at Mosport. Our team has worked extremely hard since the beginning of these fiercely-disputed championships. The win in Canada was a special moment for me and the whole Oak Racing team.

Has being a member of such a prestigious team as Oak Racing changed anything for you?

Oak Racing has definitely turned things around for me. Since I’ve been with them, I’ve been lucky enough to drive some really competitive cars and win races. Jacques has been backing me for 4 years now and I’m proud to be part of his team. Every member plays a part in our success.

Is driving a closed-cockpit very different to driving an open design?

As far as actual driving is concerned, nothing much changes. The visibility is different and there’s a small blind spot in tight bends, but you get used to that after 4 or 5 laps. One thing though - a closed cockpit is definitely much hotter than an open one!

You have just joined the BRM family as a ambassador. What convinced you?

BRM watches are unique! They perfectly symbolise motor sports in that they are made with the same precision and attention to detail as a finely tuned racing car. And the design is great too! I adore watches and I fell head-over-heels in love with this brand. I’m really proud to be an ambassador for BRM.

Who can resist a beautiful Italian?
The Concorso Italiano is the epitome of the sophistication, good taste and flamboyance that characterises all Italian culture. The event, widely-known in motor-racing circles, is held during the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elégance and gathers together some 1,000 Italian classic cars. As the name suggests, the Concorso Italiano is for Italian cars only, with an exception made for a few Aston Martins, which are designed by the Italian manufacturer Zagato.

For the last four years, BRM and Concorso have formed a great partnership. We were thrilled to have Simona De Silvestro, one of the best female drivers, on our stand these few days. We are now looking forward to seeing you all next year.
