This year, at the "Homme de l'Année" (Man of the Year) awards 2014, the Journal de l'Automobile picked the French watchmaker of choice for motorsport connoisseurs to reward the lucky winner.

On April the 16th, Bernard Richards, managing director of BRM Manufacture, had the pleasure of congratulating Mr Reithofer, chairman of the board at BMW Group, and presenting him with a unique V12-44-GTN, engraved with his name.

With Luis Felipe Derani and Gustavo Yacaman

Young Brazilian driver, Luis Felipe 'Pipo' Derani, has already distinguished himself several times on the track. Having taken several podium finishes in different categories, and aged just 23, Pipo continues his trajectory in 2015 by joining the FIA WEC with the G-Drive Racing team.

He forms a promising team in the LMP 2 category of the endurance championship with the Colombian driver Gustavo Yacaman, who also has some very good results under his belt.

At the wheel of their Ligier JS P2 n°28, they have already taken second place in the first two races of the season with teammate Ricardo Gonzalez, and are currently preparing for the Le Mans 24 Hours.

BRM will be supporting these two talented young drivers on the tarmac, and, with the input of the young Brazilian driver, has developed a uniquely designed watch for the occasion: the MK-44 Luis Felipe Derani.

Three-times winner of the Le Mans 24 Hours in the GT category, Julien Canal has also adopted the BRM livery.

In 2014, the Le Mans-born driver took things to the next level, and chose to take part in the World Endurance Championship in the LMP 2 category.

He was well up to the challenge, as he finished second in the World LMP 2 Championship!

This pole position partnership brought about an exclusive watch:
the V6-44-SA-SQ-Julien Canal.

Which championship are you going to compete in this year? Are you still on the same team?
This year, as in 2014, I will be competing in the WEC in the LMP 2 category as a member of the G-Drive team, in the Ligier JS-P2 number 26.

Who are your teammates?
My teammates are Sam Bird and Roman Rusinov.

What were your results in 2014?
In 2014 we finished second in the WEC LMP 2 championship.

You are now in BRM’s livery, what does that mean to you?
I am very pleased to be joining the BRM "family" with so many other well-known drivers, who also happen to be my best friends: Pilet, Pagenaud, Pla…
Over the last few years I have taken an interest in the world of watchmaking, and I soon noticed that BRM is one of the most prestigious brands. It is well-respected for its authenticity, its production techniques, and its involvement in all areas of motorsport and technology. When I visited the workshop with Bernard Richards, I immediately realised the level of professionalism I was dealing with. It is not surprising that we very quickly hit it off. It was the start of a close relationship with BRM!

With Pierre-Louis Loubet

Pierre-Louis Loubet, known as ‘Pilouis’, is an 18 year old racing driver who is already making waves in the world of motorsport. After starting out in karting at the age of 4, this budding champion won the Bridgestone Cup in Soucy in 2009. He then moved on to rally driving, and tried his hand behind the wheel of the 208, R2, C2, R2 Max and DS3 while waiting to get his driving licence.

BRM is delighted to support this promising driver, whose ambition is clearly to win the Junior World Rally Championship!

Clocking up kilometers for charity

From 4–9 July 2015, Paris-Modena™ will bring together sportspeople who cannot resist a challenge for a cycling event like no other. As its name suggests, Paris-Modena™ will cover the distance between these two cities. It is not a competition though, the aim is for all participants to reach the finish line together! In addition to this personal challenge, each kilometre covered will raise funds for the association Rêves (Dreams).

Our partners’ wins

Another win for Nasser Al-Attiyah and Matthieu Baumel, who finished first in the legendary Pharaons Rally, the fourth race of the FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup.



Felix Rosenqvist, for his part, had his second win of the season in the FIA Formule 3 European Championship in Hockenheim.

With Aston Martin

On the other side of the world, BRM Chronographes had the pleasure of taking part in the Aston Challenge Japan supported by BRM, organised by Alpha Classics Racing. It was a superb race, which took place at the wonderful Fuji Speedway. BRM also took part in the Aston Martin club's annual meeting in the well-known Daikanayama district of Tokyo, where its stand met with great success amongst the Aston Martin owners who were there.
